Mercury was beautiful, though never saw her on the Hudson and Harlem Divisions. I doubt she ever came east to the Harmon engine terminal. Merry Christmas, Roger.
Oh, but she did! In Richard Cook's book about the Mercury, there are pictures of it at Harmon and running along the Hudson River on its 1936 publicity tour. It is also shown on display in Grand Central Terminal. There are even videos on-line from that tour. I will see if I can find them and will post a link to them. Roger, thanks for that colorized picture and Merry Christmas to all. Link to Mercury video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=sh1McLH15cY
Thanks for the correction. Definitely on the four-track Hudson Division somewhere around Croton-on-Hudson. Then entering Harmon engine terminal evidenced by the third rails next to the tracks. Also love the unadorned Hudson next to Mercury....Hudsons on the Hudson.
Merry Christmas to all of you, and thanks Roger and Mike for the fine NY Central photos and that great video.
