Yeah, I mean, I have this one but modular would be great. I tell you, at my age, I would be mighty tempted to have ready made scenery. Heck, even not at my age. I have never been real enthusiastic about doing scenery. :D

Don't forget the Norfolk and Western Y6b. I'd be in for a couple more if they were re-run.

Me too... there isn't much left for me to request that would be an absolute ' buy now' ... but the hi-nose GP20 in both WP (orange/silver/black) and GN (orange/green) would qualify.

Um, guys... I don't think Atlas is doing the Life Like GP20s, I think they are making their own. On their website they are clearly described as a "New Model". I for one am looking forward to seeing them and, as soon as they do them in CB&Q, buying some (one of every Q road number they make, to be specific).

Atlas is calling all the Wathers/Life Like tooling they bought 'new'. Along with the GP20 in the recent catalog, they have the Walthers Russell Plow and Difco side dump.

Would it not be grand if Atlas beat Rapido to the punch and offered FPA-2s in N?

If you use what is available now, the change does require a little work in N. For B&O modellers who do not want them in the 1959 paint, you must adapt the plastic frame shell to the metal chassis, change the number and add the steam generator stacks. If you do B&O Bs, remember to put the steam generator stacks on the end OPPOSITE the large fan.

B&O, MoPac, L&N, GN and LV had FPA-2s, although GN and L&N did not have Bs. There were also Canadian and Mexican roads that had them.

If Atlas did the FM five axles, NYC, LIRR and NYNH&H modellers would be happy as well as those who model whatever Canadian road it was that had them.

The Eries would likely sell well as would the FAs. Recently, I sold a large number of FAs, Eries, C-Liners on FeePay. The C-Liners got a few bids here and there and I did have to re-list one or two A-B pairs and got only opening for them. The FAs pulled a respectable number of bids and usually went for a few dollars over opening, or, in some cases, a respectable amount over opening. The Eries triggered a flurry of early bidding, sat, then crazy snipe wars in the last hour. They went for far above opening. I had one that I concocted from a NYC A unit shell that I had acquired inexpensively and a B chassis that I had acquired for little, without the shell. I figured out that the projects were not going to get done, so I put the A shell onto the B chassis, advertised it like that and got almost as much for it as I did an A-B pair. I let everyone know that it was an A shell on a B chassis (no light, for one). STILL, it fetched a good price. Only seven roads had Eries: NYC, PRR, KCS, CMStP&P, UP, ATSF, C&NW. Everyone knows that the All Tramps Sent Free and THE BORG will sell. NYCs will sell, as well.

Eries will sell well. FAs will sell respectably. The GP-20 should do well. I recently sold one on FeePay and got twice what I paid for it. I started it at five dollars less than I paid for it.

I am glad that I sold all of those things when I did. I would expect that prices might be down a bit since Atlas announced the acquisition. Once some of these things actually appear, I would expect it to drive down prices even more,

I’m picking up a couple, just to swap the ESU sound chassis under my chopped nose GP9 and GP10.

How about a ALCO C636 from ATLAS to compliment their ALCO C628 and C630 Models.

My mistake, I hadn't heard about the Atlas acquisition. Sorry if I confused anyone (besides myself). That having been said, I'm happy to see the tooling in the hands of a quality company like Atlas who is apparently going to make something of it. Maybe they get the SW1 tooling from Arnold/Hornby and get those models back in production as well.

A very interesting thought. Having a quality mass-producer owning such a product. Hmmm. (y)

I don't think Atlas would do the SW1's. They did not sell well at all for Arnold/Hornby. Those and the U25B locos can be had for around $50 on eBay as brand new units. When they were released, list price on these was around $160 and street price was around $120-125. I bought a BN SW1 and really like it.

I would really like to see someone like Atlas do a Cow & Calf of some switcher (SW9/1200 or SW1500); both powered.

Not our fault as consumers. One reason was their very limited list of chosen paint schemes. Some might then say we should re-paint, which is quite unrealistic. :(

There weren't that many buyers of the U25C and U28C in the real world either. So the list of paint schemes wasn't that big to start with. What I found interesting is the RR's that they didn't do. PRR for either locomotive or the U28C in UP or SP paint. I've a U25C and SW1 and they are excellent locomotives.

If I was modeling the NP, or had the budget to do so, I would have been a buyer for the U25 and U28C versions. But my RR did not own any. Now, they did own the "B" boat versions.....

Just looked at some NP,SP CP&Q photos of U28's. It's interesting that even though these locomotives didn't have large production numbers there are noticeable differences.
