Hello to all. I am a new member and hope to learn more about layout planning and wiring for DCC. N scale is my choice now as room is somewhat limited in the space my wife allows! Have been weathering rolling stock and locomotives for the past 6--7 years and now it is time to get my "used" collection of the road! I will listen in with a finely tuned ear. Mike
Hello Mike and welcome to trainboard. I am also in the Bay Area and model in N scale. Your space limitations are common to many of us.
Hi Mike, welcome. I, too, am SF Bay Area based, in Union City. We have an active FreeMoN group, which certainly helps with the space issue, if interested.
Welcome to Trainboard Mike, I would go for the Free-MoN route if there was a group out here. I went with a small N Scale layout
Hi Mike, I am in the bay area as well and also have very little space for this hobby. Just realized as I saw all the others in the same boat, that with the value of a square foot rental space bay area layouts are the most expensive possible Lucky us
Hi Mike Joining or meeting with a club lets you see and ask questions in person. Easier to know what you are interested in to get the most enjoyment from this hobby.
Welcome Mike! FreemoN is a great way to get all of the perks of a large layout without the cost or having to have space. It’s also a great collective of N Scalers to learn from.
