Yeah, but as far as I know he never runs his layout himself, as he has a lot of staffmembers to do that. ;)

Gary Coleman was an avid N Scale modeler.
Worked in the N Scale department at Caboose Hobbies, years ago!
Had the chance to talk with him briefly, and see a locomotive from his
collection. Think he did a TV PSA for Operation Life Saver once.
Recall seeing it a time or two.

I once saw James Doohan, who played Scotty in the original Star Trek series, in a Seattle area train store. The shopkeeper told me that Doohan had been a model railroader.

Had never heard of him as a member of our hobby. And I am a native of that area. Did/does he live in the Puget Sound region?

Just watched an episode of "Jay Leno's Garage" and he went to John Lasseter's, (of the movie "Toy Story" and "Cars" fame), 50 acre vinyard-he has his own 2 mile narrow gauge railroad with a real 1901 Porter steamer!! Jay and him rode it around, then went into his garage where it looked like he had a pretty sweet O-gauge layout along with some nice classic cars.

Merle Haggard gave an interview to Rockceller magagzine (RCM)

"RCM: You’re also a model railroader, aren’t you?

MH: I’ve got a great collection of model trains, but I haven’t had a train set up in years. I once had an O-gage, 1/4-inch scale that was 750 feet and ran around the circumference of the house. I’ve still got the trains and a few of them sitting around in our house. But there’s not an active model railroad in my life right now. I wish there was. The Super Chief was always my favorite passenger line because my dad worked for Santa Fe for many years."

i found a recent (june 2017) sale on ebay of an n scale brass locomotive which the seller advised came from the estate of Merle Haggard, along with a signed letter of authenticity from his ex-wife.

Why is Walt Disney not on htis list already? Shame on us!

Not only has Disneyland got the best model railroad ever, but there was a really cool miniature prototype at his estate.

I'm very impressed that one of the original Disneyland engines was named E. P. Ripley. But then, I am a Santa Fe fan.

Oh, heck. Stop feeling old and complete her education. I don't ask, 'Who's Benny Goodman?', even though he was before my time. My father didn't sit around feeling old when it was time to complete my education!

She now has a fairly solid knowledge of the classics from John Fogerty (with and without CCR) to AC/DC. I was a little taken aback by where she started, but I certainly didn't neglect that part of her education. That would never do. She also likes old show tunes (Not my doing-probably due to early influence from her grandmother).

He's the guy who invented the tuffet that little Miss Muffet sat on (and got scared by the spider, because bug spray wasn't available yet).:D:p

That made him really, really rich and he has this huge Lionel collection.:)

I actually have a building from his N-Scale layout. He was a member of my N-Trak club in Colorado Springs a few years before I moved there and joined.
