Peaking through the woods. There is a steam locomotive hiding in there somewhere.

Good morning all, late check in as I got a flat on the way to work this morning, had to call roadside assistance as the lug nuts were so tight I could not get enough leverage with a 6" long lug wrench to loosen them.

I few things I got done the past couple of weeks!

Still working on the PC G47 Gon, here is one of the end ladders complete with the unbent ladder sitting on the workbench, it is the next one to be bent (5 bends) and then installed.

Doing some more of the Canadian Wheat Board Covered Hoppers, here is the IMRC kit with the roof hatches and the roof walk supports in place.

Completed car with Plano Roofwalk and Walk Over Platforms installed, painted with a mixture of Scalecoat II Boxcar Red and Reefer Yellow and then lettered with Herald King Decals. As I noted in a previous post these were purchased by the Canadian Wheat Board and assigned to the CP or CN for maintenance as noted by the CPWX or CNWX reporting marks.

Top view of the car showing the see through effects of the Plano Roofwalk, make for a much more believable model.

Finally, the fourth MDC - FMC 4700CF Covered Hopper I am doing for the club layout, painted with a mixture of Floquil Conrail and Big Sky Blues and lettered with Islington Station Products decals.

    Thanks for looking!

Been there on lug nuts after having my pick-up serviced years ago. Ended up duct-taping the lug wrench to a broom handle to get them loose!

The base is warped a bit...I'm still trying to straighten it out.

The anticipation of the train coming is one of the really cool things about this shot. People are on the platform waiting, so you know it will be there soon with all the attendant bustle of people boarding and getting off and then it will be gone again, leaving the depot deserted in the night.
As a very famous model railroader once said, "Every picture tells a story, don't it", and this one tells a really good one.

Use some ink and alcohol mix to weather the roof. Try a light mix first and test on a scrape piece

    Thanks, Guys!

Here is another picture, half hour later where it gets pretty busy with two trains making a meet there. I was able to get a shot in before security chased me off the rails.

OK Josta. I am inspired. I may have to try some night photography again. This one is from years ago but all I have.

Russell, that's great! You can even see how the locomotive's headlights illuminates the waiting passengers!

When you had nothing to do on a Friday night...but still had some cash for gas and a Coke...Nice scene, Candy.

Nicely put ! Thank you Paul. That is exactly what I had in my mind when I did the scene.
