My railfan group is always having a debate over whether or not the F40PHM is ugly or not. I think the new paint schemes they are getting makes them look even better, but a few guys don't like them too much.
I'm not well versed in MI railroading, so checked my SPV Atlas and right you are! I'd ridden Amtrak from Chicago to East Lansing to look over Michigan State University that day. Within several hours it became apparent that I wouldn't be a good fit there, so rather than waste the rest of the day, I found the rail crossing and grabbed some shots. Even found a hobby shop in walking distance and bought an Atlas 40' Rock Island new-image-blue boxcar there which I still run. All-in-all, a memorable day.
Evening in Rosenberg from November 2006. BNSF freight pulling across the UP Sunset Route, that can be seen in the background on the right, to head towards Galveston.

CSX 4045 Northbound through Emerson GA - April 14, 2018 - Not sure if I like the look of these or not.
It is a very old Grand Trunk business car named the Quebec. Built as a wooden chair car in the 1800s was retrofitted with a steel frame and sheathed with steel plate to look like a heavyweight before being put into service as a business car. The interior has been restored but it needs a new paint job on the outside.
Yikes! I recalled that the EJ&E too had an SD-38-2 with the Mark of The Beast. I took this in Barrington, IL I'm guessing in about 1976, with the 666 heading up Train No. 6.
