Cool stuff! Good to see some of the old GN equipment still out there!

There's a few of these down in Auburn Yard, waiting the call as well.

 

Aye - we have a spreader and a rotary in Wenatchee, too.

 

Here in Yarmouth Nova Scotia we don't even have a railroad anymore. But I glad some of you people do.

Otherwise I wouldn't have the chance to see the equipment out there!

Wow, nice catches! Some of the stuff looks like the armored trains they used in WW1 and 2...

 

Considering the built date on the one is 1936 and the other one looks older - maybe some of it was war surplus. Looks home made - in contrast, I'd expect the new Harsco one to have electric windows, door locks, air conditioning and a stereo system. ;-)

Hard to see, but it had one of those Calvin stickers pee'in on a UP shield!

The first thing that came to mind when I saw that first, head-on photo of BN 972502 was...

...armored Furby...

Really cool! The paint job on this unit looks really good considering how long it's probably been since that scheme was used.

 

Somebody had some fun with this one. Can you imagine being out in the middle of a snow storm and see that heading at you.

 

That sure ain't no Furby!

 

If that's a cigar clenched in it's teeth.....it means business!!...Snow business LOL
