Russell, having a digital camera sure makes thinks easier, what kind of structure is that in the foreground?

Only managed to get one car done this week:

Athearn 50' PC&F RBL with 10'-6" Door, painted with Scalecoat II Hunter Green and Floquil SP Dark Lark Gray. In the mid 60's the SP was having trouble getting its cars back to haul wood products out of Oregon and Washington so with their bank they created Evergreen Freight Car as private owner cars were routed by different rules and payment requirements than railroad owned cars. Evergreen eventually had over 3,000 cars. This arrangment lasted until 1978-79 when the cars were absorbed into the SP under class B70-38.

Since I only got one car done this week, thought I would show some of the stuff on my workbench.

Kadee 40' PS1 Boxcar, painted the first color and masked for the next color to be applied.

Atlas 3560 CF Covered Hopper Kit, removed the reinforcing rib on the top of the car as the ICG cars did not have this rib, removed the cast on roofwalk and am in the process of placing the supports for a Plano Roofwalk. Also will need to add airlines where needed.

This ECW ACF kit, is being modified to more closely represent a Bethlehem Steel manufactured car as denoted by the white sheet metal parts that were present on a Bethlehem Steel car and the longitudinal opening hatches. Will need to add airlines and other parts.

    Thanks for looking!

That is the roof of an old cotton shed/warehouse attached to the local cotton gin. The prototype that I tried to model it after
is in the lower right corner of this image.

The last DS&N RR OCS rolls through the reverse loop interlocking on my N Scale road. The LV PA-1 is an old Con-Cor/Kato unit from the late '70s that I painted long ago that still runs great. The other two cars are painted as well. This 30 Year Old pike is being razed and a new road will arise.

So it's my Birthday and I wish I was in the Virgin Islands. 5 degrees this morning in my part of Connecticut. So anyway I want to add to that Green building I posted last week. It was my first attempt at scratch building. I give myself a C+. It was build to add to my Miracle Chair Company kit. ( If it's a good chair...It's a Miracle )

So I was saying. The Miracle Chair Company kit is a poor excuse for a factory. So I was searching around and found this kit that was a plastic kit called Edison's Laboratory. I found that it fit perfectly at one end of the Edison kit. Here it is sitting on my coffee table. IMG_0816.JPG IMG_0815.JPG

Thank you Candy. I'm not sure what I'm going to do when I run out of my old Cornell Red paint. It's a color that's hard to get right and I'm not sure if anyone offers it these days.

Scalecoat Offers LV Cornell Red in both the Scalecoat I and II lines, I have a bottle to paint a C628, if I can find the body that I started some time ago on my workbench and work area.

I recall seeing some of these cars, being switched into PC&F, c.1974. They were in gondolas, and spotted at the RIP tracks for repairs. BN had dumped a batch of almost new cars, in some sort of derailment.

Try Americana ( DecoArt ) Number DA219 It's called, Heritage Brick. Experiment by adding a bit of black then a bit of bright red. Let the red pull it up until you get it right. See how close you can get.

Happy birthday, Candy. It appears Connecticut is slightly colder than Michigan today- It was 13 degrees when I went to work this morning.
Nice job on the factory. The building you added is a model of Edison's laboratory in Menlo Park, NJ, which has been recreated at the Henry Ford in Dearborn. It does make a nice mill or factory building.
