I used a laytex based contact cement from a home improvement store, expensive was about $27.00/gal. and applied it with a small paint roller and it worked good.

You can buy Liquid Nails Foam Adhesive (609) in caulking gun tubes or any similar products for attaching foam board for around $5 each.

Liquid Nails makes an adhesive specifically for foam board.

Some people use plain old white glue but I would go with the Liquid Nails product. Just be sure you get the one made for use with foam board.

Yelow carpenters glue. a thinlayer does well, and it sets in 30 minutes. Also great for gluing down flex track.

yellow carpenters glue, or even good 'ol white glue...in the past I used latex liquid nails, only to find that Elmers white glue worked every bit as good...even after years, I'm still able to pick these modules up, and carry them, by the very top layer of foam... arbonado 044.jpg Round Rockj 152.jpg IMG_0005 (2).jpg IMG_4511.jpg

Very nice modules! That basically what I'm looking to do. Building some 16"x 4' modules so I can get them in my truck.
    Planning on a 20' x 15' L shaped layout.
Thanks for the tips on glue.

I used liquid nails for foamboard on my HCD layout nearly 10 years ago. It has survived 2 transatlantic moves, and still is solid as a rock.

arbomambo, that’s exactly the scenery I want for my upcoming Nn3 micro layout. Yours looks perfect! Do you have a build thread for that?

I would concur with those suggesting a latex caulk or yellow glue. I've used both with good results.

Water based latex caulk/adhesive. Specifically DAP in a tube at HD for a little over $3. Comes in white and clear. I even use it to glue my Atlas tracks down. For the I use the clear version. Goes on white so you can see it. Dries clear so you know it's dry. Win-win!

Since it's in a tube it comes with a cap and lasts quite some time. I've never had a tube dry out on me.
