Nasty stuff. Amazing how people would throng to see the carnage. Only if absolutely necessary, would you ever find me approaching such an incident. I guess back then people looked at these things much differently.
I'd imagine that people would collect around a wreck site just the same today if they could. This scene took place on the SOU main north of Lynchburg, VA.
Ken, they didn't have Smart Phone, TVs, or even radios back then. So a train wreck was lots more exciting than watching the A&P truck unload.
