Managed to finish one car this week!

This is a car I built for the Railroad Clubs Christmas Gift Exchange. Athearn PS 5344CF Boxcar Kit, with added Plano Walkover Platform and A-Line Sill Steps in place of the plastic ones. Painted the car with Scalecoat II Armour Yellow and Floquil Platinum Mist Paints, then decalled with Oddballs Decals. The KCS picked these cars up in 1987 from one of the shortlines that had too many, and instead of painting it in their rust color left in the the yellow that the cars were originally painted and lettered with green graphics.

In progress car, Athearn PC&F 50' RBL with a 12' Door, car will be either SSW, SP or WP depending on the decal I can find.

Also worked on a GP7 for the D&TSL railroad, but the picture was damaged, may try it later this week.

    See you all later!

Wow...a lot of early risers with great pictures this first day of December!

Candy, great work as usual. I think the Ladies' facility is appropriate as is, assuming the occupants' possible "tipsy" state....

BTW, I tipped my hat in your direction as I went through Bridgeport on ATK 2159 Tuesday morning.

Very nice, Candy. I see that the ladies' also has a very prototypical lean to it- something that the prototype probably wouldn't attend to until it was about ready to fall over. Also good to see the Ford again:D. BTW, the moonlit shot is also outstanding. Love the way the lighting gives the Central of Georgia boxcar a particularly sun-faded look. Was the front lighting provide by a street light, sunlight, or? All 3 outstanding shots and great modeling.

You haven't lived until you have used a porta-potty up on the North Slope of Alaska in the winter! Luckily they have heaters in them but you also have to move quickly if your sitting down, as the waste is incinerated after so long right in the porta-potty.

Wow quick start to this thread this weekend and some great work everyone. I didn't post anything last weekend because of Thanksgiving and a weekend train show. The show was great fun and our Ntrak group had one of our largest layouts in recent years which included some new or seldom seen modules. Before the show opened on Saturday I was able to get some photos of those.

In my travels I have seen several "UFO" modules and now we our own at Peninsula Ntrak. This is actually a pair of 2 ft modules so it makes for an easy carry in a small car.

Here's a closeup of the UFO crash scene.

This module was started about 15 years ago by a member who had to leave the area for a job change. He finished the module and used it in layouts in his new club. Recently another Peninsula Ntrak member acquired the module and brought it back to the Bay Area.

We don't see the circus / carnival ride modules very often but they are always a hit.

Another great moody night shot, John. It almost puts me there next to the tracks counting seconds with my dad's old Praktica and remote cable.

added some groud cover, however I ran out of glue quickly, I only put it down between the street and the team track west of the freight station…any ideas on what I should name it?

Wow, I had wondered what had happened to those. Glad they found a good home. Do you also have "Cotton Bell" ?
