Fantastic backdrop, Brad! One really gets the impression of wide open spaces, not a layout (if one ignores the big red button mounted on the edge of the world... ).
As promised the other car I finished this week! Kadee PS 2003CF Covered Hopper, painted with Scalecoat UP Covered Hopper Gray and lettered with Highball Graphics Decals. The Prototype cars were built in 1955 by the PRR Altoona shops from kits supplied by Pullman Standard. They were repainted into the PC scheme shown in the 1970's. Thanks for looking! Rick Jesionowski

Thank you everyone for your comments. The red button that shows in that photo is part of a control panel for a pair of cross overs that are blocked by the train. Here is another photo of the area that shows everything. This represents the west end of the paired track. As you can see in the lower left hand corner, the edge of the world becomes the unfinished edge of the world (no fasica) but that will soon change. I think its kinda cool, the bright Orange. Like the carmen just replaced all that stuff. Thats what makes the car unique.
I did a bit of modeling this weekend. This ATSF cab represents a similar cab in Denver, now a shoving platform, doors welded shut cant even get in out of the rain and cold See the prototype images here. http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/rsPicture.aspx?id=505342 More than a few taggers have applied their mark to this once proud if not pristine ATSF caboose. Here is my version, its an Athearn RTR WV caboose. I got it at a yard sale for pennies it sat around for a few years till I ran across the images in the attachment above. I didnt want to spend a bunch of time on it, and frankly did it to drive a friend of mine that is a huge ATSF fan crazy. It worked he hates it. If he forgets to bring an ATSF cab to the op session he gets to pull this around. He hasnt forgot to bring a caboose for a while Anyway here is my version. While not exact it has the intent. Kind of weird they used blue and green to patch with, instead of the red that would have matched the original paint. And it pained me to mis-align the reporting marks.
That would get a lot of attention at a show. Leave it on an abandon siding with just a bit of overgrowth around it.
I love to watch a big steam locomotive working with it's big rods and big pistons moving in and out and in and out. What a grand show
