I finished a couple of cars this week, but only have pictures of one as I screwed up and deleted the picture from my camera before uploading.

E&C Greenville 52'6" Gon Kit, removed the cast on grabs and replaced with Tichy Drop Grabs, required 28 grabs and the associated holes to be drilled. Also carved off the cast walk over platform and installed a Plano one. Car was painted with Scalecoat II Black and then lettered with Oddballs Decals. Car was built in 1983 and as most MP Gons were painted in Boxcar Red paint it was odd that this one was delivered in Black paint, the story is that the MP sent a black and white picture of a gon to the Mexican supplier and told them to paint it like that and they did using black paint instead of boxcar red.

I will post the other car when I retake the picture.

    See you all later!

Started working on my new scene. My team track yard with office and shed. It's on a platform 18 X 18 inches. The building are just placed for now just to show where they will go. Did some base work of cardboard and weathered the platform boards. It will be fun to do. 1.jpg 2.jpg

Your platform is excellent, typically you. (y)

However, I think bright orange handrails, ladders, and brake wheels carry the McGinnis NH color scheme too far.

It's the only NH car I have like that. I got it really cheap so I will live with it.

That's going to be a nice scene. As for the bright orange stuff, the only *minor* objection I have is that they're not as delightfully filthy as the rest of the car. They just need a decent coat of grime to fit in.

I always find it quite agreeable to buy things when the birds sing "cheap-cheap-cheap"...:D

The older I get the worse my "CRS" gets. I can't remember if I posted these before or not, so if I have I apologize for boring you, if not I hope you enjoy. This complete train ran for hours, without a break into or derailment, during our recent Fair show.
Hope you enjoy and thanks for looking,

    Carl

    If it was a good show, I don't mind a re-run

Carl, that train is definitely an eye catcher, which I would enjoy seeing. At most shows my reaction is "Oh, just another freight train, but let's study the scenery." Your train would be a welcome and enjoyable change. (y)

    Hank,
    Thanks for the kind words.

You would have enjoyed our club Fair Show this year. I let everyone else run the usual "just another freight train" and some passenger trains as well.

I had this Boeing train and my turbine blade train running every day and the visitors enjoyed seeing them both. Even when they were sitting on a visual siding they were a big hit. Something different.

Good time was had by all.

This is when N scale excels. Building those BIG things that take up so much real estate in HO

    Brad,

Great job on the backdrop. It is extremely well blended into your layout.
