Did my first weathering of covered hoppers this past week and made another short video, enjoy and thanks for watching! Steve
Not a bad week. Been working on the yard ends.... added a locomotive facility at one end and a car shop at the other. Track installed and feeders installed on both ends. Just needs to be wired into the main bus.... Also added some loads to some of my flats, just need weathering now..... Also swapped out my first 25 cars with metal wheels (Two more 100 packs on the way), and replaced some short couplers on a few new locomotives. Short video I put together of a few clips on my layout, enjoy! Not getting too much done right now because of the heat. Steve
Another video I made yesterday. Enjoy and thanks for the feedback/comments. Steve Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I like the train speed .... Seen way to many videos of n scale freight trains running at bullet train speeds !!!
Thank you Friend, enjoyed that relaxing video. Made me think of my layout while watching, it is taking me forever to ballast. I think I have completed about 35' of somewhere around 300' of track. Ballasting around my turnouts/switches seems to take close to a day each with testing...
Thanks Jeff, it’s painstaking work doing ballast and I really don’t like doing it. The end result though is well worth the time and work put into it though. Steve Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
A short run by I did and uploaded, clip contains some patched boxcars I did by hand (last 4 cars before the KCS). I was going to wait to upload until I had a few more clips but I went well over 10,000 views on the YouTube channel so I had a reason to do it sooner. Steve Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Nice layout. Would recommend not to put tall buildings at front/ next to fascia as over-reach results in frequent damage. Regards Dave
Thanks Dave, most of them are already further in so I don’t make that mistake twice! Steve Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
New video I posted to my YouTube channel. Thanks for watching, feedback always welcome! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks for sharing your layout videos Steve, looks great!!! I agree with you on installing ballast, hate to do it but well worth the effort, same for painting the rails. Both are very tedious and time consuming. I found it easier to do if I break it up into three foot sections each day. Joe
Thank you, glad you guys liked it! Thanks Joe, I have kind of stalled on the updates to the layout because I will be moving in June. I haven't completely decided yet if I am going to dismantle and move the layout with me or just start over from scratch. But yes, the ballasting is painful but well worth it. I am with you on doing it sections at a time. Thanks again Steve
