And for those of you/us that like to see evidence of long trains, here's a video of that Yellowstone pulling it's 43 up the grade. It stalled a bit near the crest, but a bit of throttle play got her up, with no assist. Man, this train is 12 1/2 feet long!
Nice. That S bend immediately after won't have helped! My longest train is 7 x 40ft boxcars and a caboose. If I squint, it looks quite long too! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Sad thing is, the train is too long for my longest yard track, by about a foot! But it is fun to see just what it'll pull!
For those wondering what a fan modified radiator looks like... And here's a couple of the new radiator. Turns out that a radiator for a 1973 is nigh impossible to find! So a new one from Jeg's/Champion came in and after some fabrication work yesterday, she is in. Now all I need do is install two new electric fans and an upper radiator hose.
Saw an SP SW-1000 that looked like that, sitting here in town many years ago! Before being delivered to Omnitrax, Loveland, for eventual rebuild. Have a photo or two, somewhere! Had to include this, from Bill Cosby, about Fat Alberts car:

Can not relate. Never had tonsils removed. Have a couple of CD's, and have the original records as well: Why is there air? I started out as a Child Gotta find the records, get 'em on the computer, and burn a CD! Have not most of this stuff in ages! Think it's time!
Well, It has been a couple of weekends since I got the #9 programmed, and the RR has been mostly idle. Why? It turns out that two of my articulated locos were on the mainline, the 501 and the Yellowstone, and somehow they both ended up reprogrammed to partially what the #9 was! GRRR!!! Frustration! So, after a week of pondering and work and NOT looking at the RR, I knuckled in and got busy looking. There are isolation switches and such to keep the programming track seperate from the rest of the layout, ostensibly to prevent such an incident. Yup, those are all wired right and functional. Switches are in the right position. That leaves track to look at. AH-HA! I thought I had cut all the gaps! That's what I get for thinking! (And, yes, the thinking caused pain!) So, with my trusty dremel and such, that is resolved. And several hours of re-programming later and the 501 is almost right and the Yellowstone is all set. Just got to finish re-doing the 501's speed curve, it is WAY too fast yet.
