We went up to Sacramento on Sunday, for a Mother's Day lunch with our daughter. Of course, we at in Old Sacramento, just down the street from the CA State RR Museum. After lunch, I nice little walk, where we saw Sacramento Southern #2008 pulling off the small turntable and heading towards the barn

As we continued our walk along the river, these views of the old Sacramento Locomotive Works. Note the juxtaposition of the old and the new, with Amtrak in the background (there were Capital Corridor, CA Zephyr and San Juaquin all in the station -- Zephyr pulled out while we were walking)

Not actually sure, but that whole area is slated for redevelopment. There are a couple other locos, and some freight cars there, as well. All in roughly the same shape. They are sitting on what I think are two leads into the throat of the old SacLocoWorks yard from the mainline, off of the Sacramento River bridge.

I hope those were not donations from the Santa Fe collection, to the museum.

I don't think these have anything to do with the museum. They are on different property, on the far side of the main east-west track, and the Amtrak station. About a 15 minute walk north, along the river

I believe they are the museum's, but the museum just doesn't have the space for them.
