Anyone know of any etailers who carry N Scale Magazine ?? I am trying to find where I can get extra copies for my kids ! I tried Googling but I must not be asking Google the right question the right way. That or Google is having a bad hair day...LOL
Ho, Ho, Ho Uhh...err... ok wrong scale. Regarding copies: Contact N Scale, Wig Wag directly. You might be surprised by the answer you get.
I did that Rick. I emailed Pamela 2 weeks ago and Walt a few days ago...no replies So yup...I am surprised...
Hello - I am sorry but I did not get your email. We would be happy to get you some copies. Please email me at info@nscalemagazine.com I look forward to hearing from you. Pamela
OK Pamela...thanks. My sent folder on email shows it sent....but...we all know how well emails work or doesnt work...lol. I will contact you again
True Rick Pamela and I got things all squared away. Our kids are going to freak out when they each get their copy of N Scale Magazine with mom and dad and THERR RV featured in it...LOL
George, Congrats! Your layout setup is a cool idea and deserves some "air play" like this. If you decide you need more copies, there are several shops here in Dallas that carry it. Let me know.
Congratulations, George!! Pamela... I'm thinking about subscribing... for sure can't afford Print+Digital right now... debating the pros and cons... Can I make a suggestion? Could you make one or two, or part of one or two of your digital issues freely available, as a "sampler" to help people decide which they'd like? Maybe not a whole issue... just an article or a section, or some random pages or something...
Thanks I am having the same debate with myself Digital...I can increase the page size for easier reading Print...my reading glasses work just fine Decisions...decisions...lol
Yes, I will attach a link here for the first 17 pages of the Nov/Dec issue. I hope this will help with your decisions. Please let me know your thoughts. I'd love to hear them. http://digitaledition.qwinc.com/publication?i=354489
Thanks! Both for the access and for the very quick response!! My initial impressions... the online reader is interesting. I couldn't figure out how to zoom, which was a big problem, as the article text was too small to read. I skipped the tutorial, which was my fault. SCRATCH THAT... "how to zoom" is one of the first things in the tutorial, and if I'd been viewing it on either my laptop or my tablet, pinch-to-zoom would have been intuitive. On my desktop I was looking for a zoom icon and didn't think to double-click. The PDF download, though, was perfect. Nice, sharp photos, easy to read text, and it looks just like the print edition, which I like. Will the digital edition be incorporating more interactive content (links, video, etc.) in the future, or will it be "just" an online version of the print mag (no wrong answer here - there are pros/cons for both)? Tough decision. I really like the print edition. I don't have a subscription (yet) but I pick it up regularly from my LHS (partially so they will keep stocking it!). The heavy, glossy paper and high quality images make it a nice read. There's still something about picking up an actual book or magazine that is impossible to replicate in digital form. That said, the digital edition is super, super convenient when it's available, and is clearly the future of periodical media like this (your printing and mailing costs must be killing you!). I can (I assume) read it on my phone or iPad or laptop whenever I have time, can zoom on things, and so on. "BOTH" is obviously the right answer here, but if I am forced to choose, I may find myself tossing a coin!
You are welcome. I'm happy you were able to navigate through the sample digital edition easily once you read the tutorial and view the issue. Yes, it does look just like the printed copy, but with many extra options available - zoom in, go directly to an advertisers website, share with social media, print specific articles of interest and more. In future digital editions, now that we have it up and running, we will be adding additional photos/videos, etc. Many of the authors provide more photos than we can print in the magazine and now we can share them with you all. Most of our subscribers receive both the print and digital edition. Print is still the preference for many, but a lot of subscribers like the extra options available with the digital edition. Yes, you can read it on your phone, iPad, laptop and any other platform using a current browser. N-Scale Magazine will always remain in print, but I am pleased to also offer the digital edition to those that want it.
I'll probably switch from print to digital when my current sub is up. I assume that it will go out about the time that the print issue goes to the printer. Don
