I've built several Z scale Sound cars in the past. But today I bring you the next Step In Z scale. American Z Lines Powered Z scale E8 with SOUND ! That's right My working Powered Z Scale Locomotive With on board DCC Sound sounds include: each of the 12cyl 567 prime movers starting up, cooling fans kicking in, air compressors running, excess air blow off spitter valves, dynamic brakes, and brake sequel, I've also added separate head and mars lights. After the video was taken I added coupler clank, doors opening & closing, and radio chatter. Their is a little more info on what all was done over on AZL's Forum http://azlforum.com/thread/806/sound-christmas So What do you think Let me hear your thoughts?
Well, this is definitely a case of the 'whole enchilada'. Great job on your accomplishment, a real winner.
Will you need a DCC decoder to hear them? Seriously, outstanding accomplishment! Z is almost up to Y2k in comparable technology to other scales ready to run. Battery power, sound, remote operation from a cell phone. All commercially available. Why aren't the manufacturers installing this technology ready to run? It's not like they are in any cost-cutting mode in locomotive pricing to the public. A new circuit board, a speaker and a hearing aid battery, just pennies in add-ons to a $200+ locomotive.
Thanks David. I'm with you here! So we're on the same page... Something happened to the board. A glitch of some kind? For a while, this was the first post ( page 1 ) on all the threads. If you ask me, this remarkable feat should be page one news, still. I still don't have the money that I'd like to put into the hobby. If I did ...I'd be begging for one of these. Thanks again for all your innovations! Rory
