Built by Budd for the NYC as a 10-6 sleeper named the Missouri Valley between January and March of 1949. It remained in service under the number 10136 through the 1970’s. It was later used by Amtrak under the numbers 2836 and 2896 before being retired around 1980.
ARTX101, 102 and 103 are Artrain USA’s gallery cars. The gallery interiors are ten by eighty feet with a height of eight feet. They contain state-of-the-art lighting, metered for specific art media and HVAC systems designed to ensure climate control.
