Ken, That picture was taken before the earth quake in Wells. The reason for no trains moving was lack of rested crews to go east of Elko. HemiAdda2d, That may have happened but it was a two way street, SP could do the same with UP trains going west. The track was in such poor shape that UP had given thought to getting out of the double track agreement and making it CTC for two way train traffic. UP ended up merging with SP and things stayed the same but UP paid to repair the track. Greg

I'm not sure how much it would take to get it to run again. Last I heard, it is up for trade or sale to a good home. We won't give it away, sell it for scrap and hopefully we can do some paint touch up on it. We have a full plate for restorations and projects in great need of attention and unfortunately with gas prices fewer visitors hence less income. Greg
