SP had more than one FP7. Are you thinking of the one SSW FP7 (that went to the SP)?

Yes, I am--but I thought I read somewhere that the SP did their F-7s Santa Fe style--no steam generators in the cabs and big ones in the boosters.

Maybe they said the Cotton Belt unit was the only one with no dynamic brakes, and I misunderstood that to mean it was the only FP-7.

The SP had 17 FP-7s. 16 delivered to the SP and the one to SSW. I think I see the edge of a snow plow so that would be one of the SP units. The Cotton Belt had a "freight" pilot.

Diggin' the L&N Alco C-430 shot, really neat. Your guess of a 12/1977 slide date is a good one, as this unit carried No. 5601 from 1976 to 1979 only.

A rather simplified pilot, too. It wouldn't have stayed on the track long if it had encountered a cow!

I'm not sure why, but CR gathered a lot of its Fs in the Cleveland area. Perhaps it was because of the close proximity of the NYC's large Collinwood Shop. PC 1853 was ex-NYC.
