Picked up 3 TrainWorx Southern Pacific Auto Parts cars, Unique paints and more interesting check out the final pics (wheel set to the left)
A second Kato Heavy Mikado, to supply a correct set of drive wheels, etc for my K3. Not sure what I'll do with the 1st one with the weird disc drivers; any road have Mikes that had those?
During this past week while my wife and I took an RV trip down the coast from where we live in the SF Bay area I was able to visit Central Coast Trains. Had not been there in many years as it's about 200 miles away. I stocked up on some M/E and Peco flex track I needed for two different layouts, some styrene strips, and a new set of micro drill bits.
Too bad about recent releases having so many problems. I have 3 SD35's from the first release back in the late 90's and they have been some of my favorites. These were some of the first ones that were designed to use a board type decoder. I did install the decoders in them and have also added the nose lights.
A Kato ES44AC in UP livery. It should be here tomorrow, I can't wait. https://www.some train store.com/kato-n-1768923-es44ac-union-pacific-5530/
I always like to read about buying supplies. Yesterday I ordered three MT 1110 conversions, some Bullfrog Snot, and a can of Testor's Dullcoat (my approximately 40 year old can finally ran out) from Mike and Robin (Fifer Hobbies). Doug
Interesting, Just picked up 8 InterMountain Railbox cars 67502-23 through 67502-28, 67502-30 and 67502-21 and came across one of the cars had the backwards wheel the same as my post above with the TrainWorx Box...good thing I have excess FVM axles. Check out the right side truck Pulled that axle off for another view, same as the TrainWorx problem. Love both models but these mistakes are just goofy.
If so, now I have 2 collector items with the New InterMountian RailBox I just purchased...same goofy issue.
I just picked up two set of UP A&B F7's. I got a set of passenger car about a week ago! I had a set of A&B units with them!
Something a bit different, a CMR line DF4b Chinese locomotive! Came factory equipped with DCC even, surprisingly well done.
Does the wheel set make it a "collector's item?" Goofy? Crappy quality control at factory. Hardly an advertisment for perfection. But I'd guess IM would only 'inspect' 10 random samples per bulk crate and I'd bet they don't ever make it out of their boxes to do so. Either you've been cross posting or the problem has become significantly greater this year. Wonder if wheels are manually aligned (worker error) or machine aligned on axles? d
Yesterday I stopped in at Inside Gateway Trains in Woodinville, WA. He had just picked up a large N scale collection, almost all BN and BNSF. Snagged this Deluxe Innovations chipgon for $10 (+ tax). He probably still has a lot, I know there were a ton of green grain hoppers.
I picked up an Atlas Alco RS-3. It's a sweet running engine, but a little loud. Still, I love it. It came with knuckle couplers, and most of my cars have Rapido. So I made a transition car.
