Nice shot, YoHo. One rarely gets a view of an engine from that angle. I really like the pattern of grime/fading on that SD. Along with all the stuff on top of the cab, that's a great photo to use as a reference for superdetailing a model.
At the Museum of the Great Plains in Lawton, Oklahoma. And there you go, they do have big mountains in Oklahoma.
From April of 2016 at Camden, SC is CSX Train 463 on the former SAL main. This train no longer runs via this route, having been moved to an ACL line as a result of CSX's extensive operational changes. Its counterpart 464 has been completely annulled. The changes leave this portion of the SAL main served only by a weekday evening local and Amtrak's Silver Star in the wee hours.
Trains and a plane. Slow moving empty gravel train passing another train that was on the siding. You can sort of see it in the shadows on full screen.
The E's, F's, PA's, and FA's were so much prettier than the graceless behemoths we have today. One exception, the F59's running the California coastline. OK, I may be opinionated, but I'm told I'm lovable...
Agreed Hytec. I also admit to liking F40PHs in their day, as operated by Amtrak, Chicago's RTA, VIA and others. Their size, squared carbody and B-B arrangement harkened to a sort of modernized F Unit. Maybe someday I'll bring my N Scale road into the Amtrak era with Kato's version.
Here is the train I was videoing. The sun is always in the wrong place when I see trains at this location.
Boxcab, it came from Spencer,NC. CSX is doing mechanical and new paint. An individual bought it. They said it,s going back to Clinchfield colors. Curtis
Right place at the right time! EB empty coal at East Auburn, just as I was getting off of Highway 18!
Where will it go, for a new home? Originally Clinchfield? That's quite interesting. I had no idea. Mechanical work? Meaning it will be legal and able to operate again? If so, COOL!
