Ugh, having to go back in to work after the kids are asleep is never good. Perhaps I can post an image in the morning.
A while ago I posted a photo of a CN wood caboose on display in Smiths Falls, Ontario. Nearby on the same grounds is this more modern one, built in 1967: IMGP1607A_CN_Modern_Caboose by Mike VE2TRV posted Apr 13, 2017 at 9:23 PM Contrary to many cabooses, which were mostly converted box cars, this one was built as a caboose, and much better equipped to house tail-end crews. It does look quite comfy.
I was out at Diablo Canyon last week, here is a shot off my phone. I'll get the ones of my camera next week.
Visiting power on CP Only yards from the site of the 2002 Minot derailment, a CP freight eases past Tierracita Vallejo.
That's a rough road out to that spot, but worth it. My wife and made the trek 20 years ago in a little rental car and I had to stop several times to move rocks out of the way. Looking forward to seeing your shots!
Now this is a bad photo. Probably the last or one of the last times a 6 unit set of D&RGW GP30's were put together. Here they are, coming into the receiving yard in Grand Junction from Roper yard Feb 1992.
This mixed freight is heading east out of Glendive this morning. It gets fun watching the number combos on locos, these are interesting.
What I find interesting is the lettering. One with the large script. Two with small script up high, and three with it lower on the hood.
