A dreary day here in Roseville, until I spotted 3014 in the lineup heading to the fueling racks. First UP Painted EMD SD70ACe-T4 I've seen. I didn't get a good shot of it, but this set of units had 4 different models in it (AC4400, ES44AC, ET44AC, SD70ACe, SD70ACe-T4. It was holding for what was likely the manifest headed for Roper which had 7 units on it 5x3x0 Including an SD70M making for 6 different models in view at the same time. One thing I can say about the UP they sure do run this railroad like it's still the SP. 5 units on front with 3 mid train heading for Donner. If only they were scarlet and gray.
UP might run the railroad like it's the SP, but they still paint them like it was the 50s. Now only if this one was painted like the 50s: IMGP10270_VIA_FP9 by Mike VE2TRV posted Mar 24, 2017 at 7:28 PM VIA FP9Au 6309 built by GMD in April 1957 as CN FP9A 6528. A little worse for wear, with cracked and peeling paint, rust, but it's still there. Now let's get that baby in the paint booth and bring her back to her green, yellow and black glory...

Empty sulfur train leaving Galveston in about 1992. It has just crossed the causeway at Virginia Point. David M. See photo.
CSX Q463 rolls south at Lugoff, SC on Wednesday with a GE AC6000CW on the point. There's a tight curve behind, hence the speed limit sign indicating a reduction for passenger and for freight.
I'm not familiar with this museum. Do they have a web site? You say "still", which sounds like it has been sitting there a while?
Last year- Early morning and we catch the eastward Empire Builder, which is only seconds from it's station stop at Belton (West Glacier), Montana:
We were working on hand rails and the brake system of the old passenger car the other day when we had a visitor drive up in a locomotive. Really should have had a derail in addition to the blue fag. If the FRA showed up we would have been in deep do do.
Boxcab, I think they do have a website. it's in Pa. Went to Huntington,WV today and it's still there.
Try this: http://lakeshorerailway.com/ Interestingly enough, front and center on their home page is a different angle of the same loco!
Ain't sure what breed this critter is, but it did NOT break the speed limit! It was shifting 4 of these big tanks at a cleaning facility just east of Miles City. And this old warrior was resting east of that facility. Not sure whose it is or why it is here... Then this pair blew by! There are videos on the below linked youtube place.
Love seeing that little critter! I seem to recall another topic asking about a similar engine to that ex-SF unit. The exhaust stacks were diverted, due to it being used at a grain loading facility.
