In 2005, this once proud queen of the SP fleet is holding down a local job... on WP rails no less as it enters Portola Ca. EMD's latest and greatest waits to greet it in the distance.

Earlier this week, a UP auto wrack train crosses 3rd street in Rosenberg while on the far right, the trailing DPU of a BNSF coal drag can be seen on a siding waiting for clearance to head down to the NRG power plant at Thompsons.

As seen at the South Carolina Railroad Museum in Rockton, SC last Saturday, an SW-8. She's a combat veteran, having been built by the U.S. military for service in Korea. At war's end, the 2028 came home and served in Savannah, GA for many years.

I think someone has done some sleight of hand photo editing on that shot. Here's the exact same picture with the unit looking as it should. Happily, this unit might reside today on New Jersey's Black River & Western.

    That must have sounded amazing!

Sure fooled me, but after looking at it closely, I saw the evidence of some trickery..... :)

What is a "cracker stacker"? This is a new one for me. A shipment from Nabisco?

In honor of this successful effort, I am thinking perhaps we need to initiate a TrainBoard "Prankster of the Month" award. Candy being the probable first winner. Ha ha. :D:p

While driving through Hearne, Texas on Wednesday, I saw the local yard switchers tied up in back. The old SD40-2 and SD40N get a workout for sure sorting stuff out on the flat yard. A lot of cars come and go to the GATX plant there. Old cars to be refurbished and brand new cars that are manufactured there.

Just a term of endearment for a doublestack train predominately consisting of JB Hunt domestic containers. They happen to be white, so..... :p

The view from the old freight depot in Crockett that houses the Bay Area NTrak club layout. Within 30 seconds, got to see the motive power of Amtrak California - P32, F59 and the new Charger. The Charger was the head and P32 was at the end of the San Jose bound train and F59PH on the Sacramento bound train.

This unit is now likely to be riding on a BBBB wheel arrangement, on some Brazilian meter-gauge railroad... ;)
