I was building the Accurail 36 foot box car, and decided to photograph it behind a Roundhouse 2-8-0. It's in UP paint, but will be Grande-ized later this year...
Very nice Paul! Many of you have probably seen my construction thread for a delayed refinery coke unit that I am building to place on our club layout in Las Cruces. It is not close to being completed (needs drilling derricks on top of drums) but I took it up today for a "test fitting". Here are two images to give you an idea of my rendition of a unit for a medium sized refinery of 100-180K Bbls./day crude oil. Thanks for looking, Carl
This one has an interesting feel to the scene. Like it is a late, warm spring evening, somewhere. Reminds me of similar nights I have worked.
No video of it yet. I want to add some interior lighting to some of the buildings plus we are headed out of town for a few weeks. Will post a video when everything is up and running.
Candy, don't beat yourself up too much. It's just a nicer neighborhood than you're used to hanging out in. (The upstairs bedroom might be a good railfan spot, too.) It brings to mind a lot of houses I'm used to seeing in small towns. The house number, shrubs and rolled newspaper would be nice touches, but before you spend a lot of time and effort applying crud, maybe you justify the clean look by parking a panel truck out front with a couple of painters just packing up their gear........
