Playa Desnuda's oil depot is getting closer....that unfinished area between the tracks is really starting to bother me. I might have to add ground cover there before I do anything else...
Been working on a number of projects and I have managed to finish some! This is one of a series of cars I am building to populate the grain cars for our club layout where we just built a large grain elevator that will need a number of cars in order to fulfill operations. Car is an MDC FMC 4700CF Covered Hopper kit, assembled and then painted with a mixture of Floquil Conrail Blue and Big Sky Blue, then lettered with Islington Station Products decals. On another spur in the Grain Elevator area, I wangled a space for the Plastic Pellet Facility and adjoining factory, these are the tanks for handling the plastic pellets, I still have to finish all the piping and handrails before assembling on its base. I choose the multi-colored silos based on an article in and old MR. Thanks for looking! Rick Jesionowski
An N Scale M-T boxcar that I painted in DL&W and weathered some years ago. This was done with dry transfers and I found them unforgiving, in that once you begin to press them in place, there's no retreat.
A lot of great stuff here already this week. Russell's scene is excellent, Bremner's switching layout is coming along nicely, and Rick's modeling is excellent as usual. Hardcoaler also got nice results on the N scale boxcar. As usual, Wolf has put together a combination of vehicles and railroad equipment that unmistakably nails the mid fifties and Jim's shot is- well- spectacular. Think I recognize the location of several of his other shots in this photo.
Thanks Tom, All good stuff this week. As for my photo, I'm not the 'big' picture type of photographer. You should recognize at least fifty other photos in this piece of 8'x5'. By the way, my site at ModelRailRoadForums.com is very close to 1,000,000 views! Jim
Box, Layouts don't last long around my house. I'm retired from modeling now of course. You can see this photo and hundreds more here: http://www.modelrailroadforums.com/...ing-the-Pinacle-Creek-Mining-amp-Timber-Co-RR I won't tell anyone if you go visit. Almost a million others have. Jim
