West Liberty VFD held a fundraiser Saturday between West Liberty and Durant to raise money for the local volunteer fire department. Five former PRR passenger cars and two IAIS GP38-2’s made up the special.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Iowa railroad Pennsylvania cars named after Texas lakes?

    I'm a mite lost now...

The coaches were previously owned by the Austin & Texas Central (hence the Lake names) prior to being sold to Iowa Interstate earlier this year. And prior to that they'd originally been built for and owned by PRR.

That is a very creative and cool idea for a fund raiser. Hope it was a success!

And do the Iowans pronounce that one right? Because if they do, they're pronouncing it wrong. According to Texans, that's 'Lake Buck Hannon'.
