Well, from what I understand. There have been significant changes that has delayed this. Nothing to do with the special run. I really don't know more than that. I am wondering too. But I am also awaiting the Milwaukee road 261 in n-scale.. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Well, anytime I am on TrainBoard, there is a little Micro-Trains logo in the lower right, with the words "new special run soon." So I assume they are painting a MT car. I would be happy if they could just let us know what the build date for the prototype was, so I will know if it could have a place on the layout I am starting on.
It's a new toy to celebrate the forum we talk about our hobby on. There have to be better things to stress Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
And yes, I know MTL has done that one (own one already) but I'm thinking there may be something in the same vein, a safety department or OLS special paint job.
(Not hijacking thread, responding to "still waiting on Milwaukee 261" comment a few posts above) I lobbied my client Broadway Limited rigorously for them to do the Milwaukee Road S -3. However, in spite of the enthusiastic response to the HO announcement at TrainFest, sales were very disappointing which soured BLI management on doing it. I thought that it being an attractive looking engine that being currently in fantrip service it would be justified for purchase by otherwise contemporary diesel modelers. But that is just as true for HO as it would be in N. Maybe the fact that there are so many NTRAK modular setups that allow us to run a whole range of road names, prototypes and eras gives anything in N better chances of sales....but BLI will need some convincing that the Milwaukee 261 would sell in N. I will try for. CB&Q O5A if the 261 doesn't get a groundswell of support. It is a strange world where Baldwin Centipedes and GG1s outsell good-looking modern 4-8-4s!!! I would certainly buy a CB&Q O5a if offered and probably more than one, assuming they are not painted "excursion gold".
It would be a tough decision for me if it was offered two ways. The only time I rode behind it was the 100th year of commuter service run to Aurora - a 10th birthday present - and it was in gold. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Alrighty then. It's now 6 months since the date set for uncovering the special run. Is there something we should be concerned about? It's not like Charlie to disappear like this. He was just as excited as the rest of us to give us the information on this. Maybe if he is too ill or too busy the task should be handed off ? I don't know. It just seems odd.. Can we get a little help here? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
