The Dunsmuir Espee tank

    Hi Guys
    I've started on the new module of my Z gauge 'Shasta' layout which is going to have elements of the Dunsmuir depot on it (cab forward sheds etc). I'm going to model the famous water tank with the Southern Pacific picture painted on it. Does anybody know how high it was and what its diameter was? Doesn't need to be mega accurate but a clue would be helpful

    Okay, I went off an overhead view and a vehicle parked nearby and came up with about 45' in diameter and 18' tall. (a pickup is about 18' long)

    Thanks for that. It is bigger than I thought but will fit nicely. I've done the artwork for the sign and will do that next after the cab forward sheds. It's going to look cool when a lash up of four SD70Ms trundle past with 14ft of Z scale manifest on the back.
