Thanks for the well wishings! I don't own any fire-arms so Alan can sleep well and so will RoyalBlue. I've caught up on my sleep so I'm not as edgy as I was. I just hope I used enough matte-medium to hold it all down. HEHEHE! Alan, I've never been across the pond so if you're suppling travel, room and board, I'll come do some handy work for you! [IMG] Now, about the first train...IT WILL NOT BE A TIME SAVER! It will probably be a SF, BN, of BNSF stacker, or it just might be a Route Rock mixed freight, or maybe a Norfolk Southern Coal Drag. But it will not be a TIME SAVER! NO WAY, NO HOW! Well....maybe. [IMG]

An after thought: I have pictures of the original Gridley as it appeared at the Urbana show. We were keeping an eye on it all that weekend so we didn't have any major derailments on it. I'll send them to E-8 and he canpost the "Before" shots here. Once we get it running, I'll have some D-P's taken and then send them too. It's different, yet the same....

    STREANGTH AND HONOR!

Here's some pics of the "Old Gridley". The corner hasn't changed much but the town section will. Danimal, take notice of the Loco (front of corner) and Car shops (back), I hope it gives you some ideas. The coal mine is on the next module and belongs to RoyalBlue. When he get's that set of modules done, he should post them also, don't you agree guys?

This is a two and a half foot deep module. That's why there's a gap in the sky-board. I'll have that problem solved at the next show too. Thanks's for the help in getting these on the site Charlie! Enjoy the view gang! It's gonna change...

UPDATE: Wiring harness is complete. I will hook up the feeders some time Tuesday or Friday night. After that, test running. The Official Opening of the line will be at Galesburg Railroad Days Train Show at Carl Sandburg College at 9:00 AM, June 24th. Stop on by and see the new Gridley, Texas in action along with many other fine N-Trak type modules from my club and others. We'll be looking for you! [IMG]

Finally, The before shots are here. This is the left side view of the two modules. These two "before shots were taken at the Febuary, 2000 G.A.T. Show in Peoria, IL.
Now, here's "New Gridley" The corner hasn't changed but you can see the placement of the industrial buildings from this side. These two photo's were taken at Galesburg Railroad Days, 2000. Makinbacon's Roadrailers are about 1/2 scale mile up track in a siding. (Oh, I forgot, they don't really exist! [IMG] HEHEHE!)
Here's "Old Downtown Gridley" before the rebuild.
    ..and Downtown.

Thanks to everone who had a hand in helping me get Gridley back in order. Next project...the car-shops get rebuilt! [IMG]

Well, that's what I get for NOT reviewing the entire topic before making any new posts. I see on page one I already posted the before shots. [IMG] Well, it makes it easier to compare the old and new Gridleys. I have plans to expand Gridley in the coming years. An "old" yard will go to the right of Downtown, twelve or sixteen feet. Around the corner to the left, the UP main will divert and elevate on over the BNSF and "swap" sides and interchange with the Gridley Grain COOP lead track. The RED LINE will remain at grade as will the YELLOW and BLUE LINES. Only the diverting track will elevate to no more than 2%. I figure this will also take twelve to sixteen feet. I guess I better get a Van to haul all this in. [IMG]
