No , I just keep up with his Videos. He always seems to be at the right place at the right time. Mike
What tickles me is that the shooter of this video thinks that this incident is "too cool". Obviously a 180-degree opinion held by the conductor relegated to lugging a coupler knuckle back to the break-in-two........
Nice to know I'm not alone with John Lennon quotes ! Sad that when the news brings up famous important figures who've been assassinated, like Ghandi and JFK, or have simply passed away, such as has Maya Angelou, John, who worked so hard to bring peace to the world (Bed Peace, "All You Need is Love" and most of all, "Imagine" [my religion since]) is hardly, if ever brought up or remembered. Furthermore, a lyric in one song: "I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round" always makes me wonder if he had gotten into trains. " You know I love to watch 'em roll ! " . Mark ATTN: this quote is in wrong post. Was meant to go in post below it: 'Fifer Hobby Supply' . Sorry. Mark
This thread reminds me of this video I ran across of Youtube several months ago. (Break is in view around 0:40) http://youtu.be/a7o1DdjT68U
OH, wow, did this get goofy ! In post WITH video of the coupler-knuckle bustin' I did not realize 'til now that that Mike is the same Mike of yellow/red road-symbol/moniker : ' Southern New Mexico N Scalers ' ! Not realizing this, I posted an " Attention, this quote should have been in mike's post " .........Never had to ! They were the SAME Mike in the first place....The Mike with the camera and the Mike in the N scale club are one in the same !!!!! PHeeeeeeew ! Great video Mike. That IS a rare one !...Must've been thrilling....good catch... So once a train, mulch tanks for all of your kelp in this most silliest of batters ...... Mark
Try having a passenger train come apart when its -3 outside. Been there done that! Sent from my BNTV600 using Tapatalk
Kev, you've caused me to reflect on how many times I stepped between cars in the past 70+ years, not even considering this.
Yeah it was a bad knuckle. Came apart twice on us in December. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
Thinking about knuckle's job: The first 2 connected knucks between engine and first car obviously must have to have THE most strength ..! Then this gets easier and easier 'til the last two cars...So, wow, knuckles must have some mighty high (is it ?)tensile strength to be able to tug 80-180 loaded freight cars and/or 10-20 heavy-weight loaded passengers, huh ?!! I guess then a knuck breaking mid way or such is one with a flaw in it from the time it was cast... an air bubble/fissure maybe, no ?
