I was just on FaceBook only to discover that he passed away earlier today.

Thor was a significant presence in both tinplate and toy train collecting and track planning world, as well as the vintage army man collecting community.

He and I had a late night internet conversation a couple months back and I must say he was a very kind and knowledgeable man. It was kind of funny, because I met him through his army man FB group as I am researching games, and only half way into the discussion did I realize he was the Thor of Thor Trains.

We lost a good one today.

I have looked at his small layout plans many times. :(

Sad to hear. Didn't know him, but prayers for his family and those of you that did.

I am told his site was one of the oldest, if not first, model railroad sites on the internet.

    That's terrible news.
I read quite a bit of his posts about toy soldiers over the years.
He was still posting to his blog last month.

I just took a look at the link. Some cool stuff there. Hopefully his website/blog will remain for a while as a tribute to his contributions to the hobbies.
