Don't know how long the process takes. I ordered on the 26th and the body and trucks are showing as "in production" today (5/30/18). 6/6/18 is the projected ship date.

I use Shapeways all the time and most of the time it takes about two weeks, then time for the shipping! the biggest problem they print more then one piece at a time so they have to set it up to fit in with a group of models being printed before they print. Shapeways does there own thing! there is just too much stuff being printed and some time it takes longer. Their printer are big enough to print several models at once that's the reason they have a bounding box for each type of material as I believe!

Received the handrails and resistor and wires in the mail today. They look great! Now I just need the rest of the parts that are on order. It looks like I'll get the paint before the rest of the parts arrive.

I'm hoping to start the instructions today. The good news is that the long production time of Shapeways brass prints will buy me some time to get it all together. ;)

Sound! like a plan! that's good news! the trucks and fuel tanks are in production. The shell is still in pre production! Order was put in on the 26 of May. But at Shapeways some time next day might be done. I've seen that happen many time. Since I also have a shop there. and I order all the time. I have had seven orders since may 15th. I have six complete and waiting for two more one due Mon. which is the seventh, then the SW's

My trucks moved to packing today. The shell is still in production. Also ordered on the 26th. They are still giving me a 6/6 ship date. I'm expecting the handrails to show tomorrow. The PO initially predicted a Fri. delivery but it didn't happen. They made it to the regional center yesterday so they are close.

Handrails did arrive Monday. When you see them you do realize how small this is ! Shapeways says my shell and trucks are on the way today.

Sorry you don't like the updates. While I agree that they're not necessary, people are excited about this. Someone has requested pictures of the building process so you can expect to see those too.

Is this the forum posting for the Shorty's multiple uses or the RP switchers progress?

I'm sorry but I agree with minzemaennchen.

A dominating topic should branch out on its own. It's not a fledgling topic anymore.

UPS arrive with my two SW today! Really nice! I think now, to get the instruction! I haven't checked to see if it has been posted yet. Have everything to start project now! Read Some of the post so why is this site even here if people have to complain of what is posted. I seen many post that didn't have a thing to do with the subject but at least someone commented! I posted before reading others I will do no more posting on this!

This afternoon I was test running my shorty. I controlled it with a Märklin elctronic 05 controller. I did put a 400 Ohms resistor in the power line to the track to reduce speed. a small relay on top of the shorty helps to improve the traction effort. It looks promissing to me for nice scratchbuild projects.

There is a gentleman over on the AZL Forum who developed weights for inside the Marklin GG1 for better ballast for traction, wonder if he could design and market weights for this as well?
