SP 2733 MP15AC and "Sluggo" SP 1012, a former SP NW?? Are working the hump Yard in Grand Junction circa 1997. The pair would pull more than you think. There was so much slack in the drawbar between these two, it would almost knock you out of the seat every time the slack adjusted. Sorry for the poor image as it is scanned from a print.
Saw this signal last night in Clinton, SC that's worthy of note. It's marked CN&L for the Columbia, Newberry & Laurens Railroad, as merged into CSX over 30 Years ago and it's also a fine example of an operating searchlight signal, rapidly becoming a rare sight. The APP marker indicates that this signal provides information only about the next signal, which guards an interlocked CN&L/SAL junction several miles away.
Amtrak 8 leaves Minot on time, at 2147 precisely. A 4 minute exposure started before the train left burned the lead power into the image, and leaving the shutter open for the light trails created this effect. Canon T5, 18-55mm @18 mm f/22 364 Sec
Hardcoaler, it's just the kit lens, definitely nothing fancy. The star patterns are cool, until you get a ton of bright lights in the shot! It has its limitations, but I'm happy with it. Thanks for the kind words.
SOU caboose on display at Hendersonville, NC. As I understand it, this caboose was from a series built in the early 1950s and was rebuilt in the late '60s or early '70s.

I remember back, probably 5 or more years ago, I could not find bay window cabooses at all. Then Athearn came out with a few, and then joy of joys, I was able to buy Southern X265 and X270.

That Katy inspection car reminds me of the old armored boxcabs that were built to send to the front in WW1. They were completed about two weeks before the Armistice, so they never were shipped overseas.
Restored Lehigh Valley Coal Company tank engine on loan to the Oklahoma Railway Museum for short steam excursions.
