Tower 115 in Eagle Lake, Texas. This interlocker controlled the point where the Galveston, Harrisburg & San Antonio (GH&SA), San Antonio & Aransas Pass (SA&AP), and Cane Belt railroads crossed. The GH&SA and the SA&AP became part of the Southern Pacific and the Cane Belt became part of the Santa Fe. It was demolished back in the 1996 and control moved to the regional SP dispatcher.

A heavy frac sand train knocks down the clear signal at CP 10.6, and its DPU shoves hard to get the train to Tioga, deep in the Bakken oil patch:
Every summer at the museum in Rosenberg we hold "Rail Camp" for young foamers. Beside building N Scale T-Trak modules we do a lot of train watching. Because of the rain yesterday, we spent a lot of time up in Tower 17 out of the weather. Here are four of the campers along with a teen helper watching a BNSF train go by north bound heading for the diamond crossing the UP. Up in the tower is the "High Tec" screen where we can track what is coming up next. Where you see red, there is a train occupying that block or blocks. Green is where the train is going if it has clearance. If not it is white. Busy day. I count about 14 trains somewhere on the screen.
Thanks, Hank! The drizzle falling illuminated the signal beams, like it does in fog and snow, as well as the wet ground really bringing the scene to life. It was a great night!
