Really looks to be some steady progress happening. Are you hiding inside from the heat and the summer yard chores?

That's interesting, as thinking back, I have always achieved more in the summer than during the winter months. And for those exact reasons used in my question! Just the opposite of what most would probably believe. But, do I mind? Not at all!

Molzahn Bridge finally has a background of green hues!

Only the first layer of scenery, several more to go, but couldn't resist putting bridge in place and snapping the shot. M

Will there be any hint of water underneath the bridge? Or is it a dry crossing?

At long last the Molzahn Bridge area is complete! Scenery is done, bridge in place and track reattached at both ends. I am exhausted and ready for new challenges. Most glad to never touch the bridge again, as my nerves are shot, ahem. I hope Dick (Molzahn) is pleased with the result. Thanks for everything my friend, RIP.

Making more progress! Next section of Upper level has basic greens down, while lower level has first coat of brown. Next step, 2nd coat of brown and a layer of real dirt. Then back to upper level for more layers of green and trees. M

Almost looks like static grass on that upper level? If not, anything special being done?

Not at this point, scenic express order due next week. I will say this, using real dirt as base layer gives overall scene great texture.

Here are a couple of shots after some effort yesterday. All pics of same location as shown in prior post. Just note backdrop hillsides on lower level have been scenicked, front section has dirt layer and rock outcroppings put down. Also put in viaduct to check for fit.

Is the retaining wall a commercial casting?

More pics of scenery progress. The north wall now has trees and clump foliage. Waiting on scenic express order for wild grasses, flowers and tufts. John Henry mine is further along, service road in. Finally, RGW 444 leads a cut of empties across Molzahn Bridge headed for Black Diamond.

    More Scenery Progress

Spent today getting the lower level as complete as one days work can make it. Finished the basic ground cover; both fine and course, then shrubs (clump foliage) and trees. If you check back a few posts you can see the difference in the wide angle shot. Pretty cool difference. Reinstalled the Tall Viaduct for photos, but it will come out again tomorrow when the trees go in. Also completed the rock formation and the scenery between the tunnel portals. Here are some shots. Additional pics of spots on the layout that had work done today.

Really liking how this scene is turning out:

We envision a railfan or two behind the fence taking pics. More later, thanks again.

Amazing how much scenery alters a first impression for any scene.

    Tonight's Task

Tonight's goal was to complete the Green River Gorge scene and get the bridge back installed. Well we successfully did that and actually ran a coal train across the bridge to check for stability and connectivity. Happy to report, No issues! Here are some shots of the finished scene.

    Took this just for effect:

Also noticed this shot has my favorite cloud formation. Thanks for checking in. MRH
