I was looking for some information on Z scale Portland RailCar. I have a few parts and pieces from when they were being made. Do these have any value? And what is their rarity?

I am very interested in these. i have several that need pieces and parts.
i've seen completed painted w/decals ready to run cars go for as high as $200 each
Kits $25 to $150 depending on quality of build paint decals and such.
parts free to $50 depending on which parts and their condition.

sending you a PM with a offer

Also, does anyone in the community know a little more about Portland RailCar?

Aside from the parts and pieces- which there are more, I was able to take pictures of what remained of Larry’s estate. Also pictured is one of the templates used for etching the brass plates to make the cars.

The most notable was the John Bull engine. My understanding is that all except the wheels were hand made. The complete ones are not for sale.

Thank you for bringing these items to our attention. I remember Larry working on the John Bull as he needed info which I could supply. My career was spent teaching History in Bordentown NJ where the Bull was assembled and tested and the details of it were very familiar to me. Larry was using the kitchen table for his work space which did not always result in a happy family situation. Have photos he sent me of the train in progress but incomplete. It is beautiful seeing his finished version. If ever available for purchase my name is submitted for consideration. Paul Lipiarski Jr @ plipzedhed@yahoo.com
