    Hi everybody,

Would anybody happen to have an old Arnold Rapido motor laying around as used in the GP7, GP9, and GP30 (perhaps others) they would be willing to sell? I find I need one in my newly discovered interest in the old Arnold locomotives.

It's the one that kind of looks like a can motor with a black plastic end on it and is mounted to the thin PC board. It's double ended and drives the cup gears.

Related, I know I was looking at exploded diagrams for the GP7 and GP30 some place, either online or somewhere here at home to see if the parts are the same in the drives (they are, except for the fuel tank casting, a little longer for the GP30) but do you think I can remember where it was? That's why I cant supply the Arnold part number for the motor. If I do happen to find the diagrams, I will add the number.

    Thanks,
    Doug

I may have what you need Doug. I've got a box of Arnold Rapido parts around here somewhere and I know I had a few Arnold Geeps. If I can find the box and if there are motors in there, I'll test them and post photos of what runs.

I found my Arnold parts box and here's what I have that might be of interest to you. Here are some photos.

I have one good motor (with the closed silver case with black end as you describe, mounted in a chassis), one bad motor (with the open black case not in a chassis), two pairs of trucks (4 Trucks total), a pair of cup gear assemblies, an empty chassis (where the bad motor lived) and two body shells. The CR shell is the best, but it has one broken stairstep. The CNJ shell is a heap and has no handrails.

If any of these items might be of interest, let me know.

Thanks much for your efforts, Hardcoaler! If you want to rid yourself of all of it, you can quote me what you want for it all. Otherwise, I would, of course be most interested in the silver-sided motor in the chassis and even the motor that doesn't work.

    Thanks again,
    Doug

Arnold Rapido part number for the motor is 271-007 for what it's worth.
