Has the last announced run of Intermountain Cab Forwards arrived and sold out or are they late (as usual)?

Should I wait or start shopping?

Well that wasn't a hard answer to get but I am not very optimistic.

Being out of the loo I was unaware that the factory that IM used to produce the Ac-12s has shut down and they are looking for someone else to produce the products. Talk about being over a barrel. You have a market but no supply.

I know, right? I just bareLy got back into the hobby a couple of months ago after a 30+ year hiatus.
Id love to have an AC12 pulling the CME, but that can onLy happen if they make them again, and fix the gearing issue so they can run a scale 75 mph.

The AC powered CME would be interesting. That said, a GS class loco would be more appropriate power for that train.

Thank you for the insight! Always happy to learn!
I’m bending the rules a bit in keeping my GS for the coast daylight, and was planning to eventually have an ABBA set of f3s for the CME (I need a lot more of the Microtrains boxcars!), asfrom what I have gathered by Summer of ‘53 it was almost all diesel for name trains, except the San Joaquin Daylight. Please correct me if I am wrong! Feel free to offer pointers on my idea/build thread!

I saw a youtube video “follow that container” where an ac12 (or 10?) was hustling along freight a little later in the morning than the daylight passed, and seemed to be about 48-53 based on the cars, which gave me the idea...
Maybe the ABBAset broke down last minute, on May 6th, 1953, and the CME is inviolate so the AC12 was quickly substituted to not miss schedule? With the ABBA to rejoin on later after repairs were made.
It would be a beautiful combination to run once in a while.

My brain has checked out. What is the CME train?
