I am looking at starting to scrounge parts up for another train model build later
this year. I am looking to do an Alco FA-1, NYC livery. I have a picture of the one
I want to model, it is at the junction in western Mass. in 1955. My grandfather worked
at that junction for NYC for 40 years plus and retired in either 1959 or 1960. I
found a nice HO shell, molded in white on E- Bay but it has no manufacturer or
what brand frame it fits. This will be fun trying to track down parts for this one.
I need a challenge, yeah, right. Any suggestions of a good brand, hopefully undecorated?---John

This is an Athearn A-B-A set I ran across at a Flea Market place in Neosho MO a while back. I picked them up for a friend. At least you can get an idea of the colors.

    Good luck!

I like the colors. Is that a FA-2 or a PA unit? Looks long in the nose for an FA-1.---John

Nice colors, after umteen million airplanes I'd say that gray is close to FS 36118 gunship gray. Light gray looks
    to be almost neutral gray.---John
