I was looking through eBay Lionel Madison Car listings and found this interesting item, now closed and having sold for $3,157.77 after 30 bids. It seems that in about 1951 Lionel produced for study a handful of Madison cars outfitted with pantographs, headlights and cab windows, so as to make an ersatz PRR MP-54. The notion to manufacture wasn't furthered, but a few of these models survive.
