I was wondering if any of our DCC friends here have looked into this decoder? The size and price seem to be a natural fit for lighting Z scale structures and even rolling stock lighting. Mark
Links are good: https://ncedcc.zendesk.com/hc/en-us...-programmable-DCC-lighting-and-signal-decoder Scroll to bottom to see board. Small.
Mark I ordered a 3 pack and a pack of the super capacitors to go with them last week. Im hoping they get here by friday so i can tinker with them this weekend. I will post my findings after i have had a chance to check them out and experiment with them a little.
I too have placed an order. Additionally I'm looking at a G-Y-R LED like the Lumex SSL-LX5097SISGSYC for it to drive for a target signal through a fiber. Mark
Garth, I'm looking at the board for both stand alone effects and block signals so I'll be very interested in what you come up with. If your work ends up in the DCC & Electronics section, let us know. The work I've done suggests each signal needs approach, passing and past train detection and the logic for 9 aspects. It seems like a lot of packets for DCC. It's also not entirely clear to me how to address the programmed boards. If I'm over complicating it, I'd sure like to know. The other thoughts I've had are for EOT with car lighting. I can hardly wait for the boars to play with them. Mark
NCE has done several videos on the two lighting boards and how to match with other product to create a three aspect block signal in DCC, as for lighting I have found the lighting system from Rokuhan fine for just straight lighting of buildings and the sockets for plug and play for Woodland scenic's also work for Rokuhan, so I would use the NCE board for lighting effects such as clearance lights on an antenna, bridge, , a lighthouse, and airport beacon, arc welding etc, and a handy deice from Rokuhan is their terminal strip for connecting 6 lights and it can be daisy chained to additional boards, Rokuhan A016 and their leds, AO17-1 and -2 give you white florescent and white incandescent LEDs which have plug and resistor already to plug into the terminal strips and they have an on/off switch with two plug in ports, for powering the lighting, that clip on side of their controllers except the C005. Just not sure if the polarity on the plug matches Woodland scenic's or not. My 2x4 show layout has 12 street lights 12 cars with head and tail lights, and 18 buildings and one bridge obstruction light all powered this way, I have some signals to install and now have a way of lighting them, and traffic signals can also be done this way. So more animation to come as a result.
