    What is a miltary type train?

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lionel-O-Sc...053786?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item5d3c25925a
    Definitely would not pay 100 bucks for that in that shape.

    Too much for an 80's era cheap tank car (Then again, I do know one of them is actually somewhat scarce and can be a little pricey).

    Is it just me or does this loco seem a bit wonky...

    Just burn the money in your fireplace, and save any hassle.

    First one, 4 engines, one tank, one gon, two cabooses, one tender, and I think three engines are Marx.
    They'd have to pay me to take it all and the rust several pieces of track.

    Second, might be....http://www.tcawestern.org/images/lionel19.jpg . But, condition and contents, I don't think $4800 is realistic.

    Third, $1900 is a joke. Penn Central plastic tenders added to tin NYC tenders, end of the obs is gone.....on a good day, with a buyer who is unaware, $500 tops.

    They are hoping some unsuspecting newbie will buy it, then they'll run.
    Off to the bank, change their accounts....

    Hmmm. Ok. Here is my scheme:

    1) go to rummage sale and get partial (five items) 1980's Lionel set for fifty cents;

    2) soak in muddy bucket of water on back porch for a week or two;

    3) list item for auction as large lot, old, rare and excellent condition;

    4) fly to Tahiti for a month of ease, on sale proceeds.

    When I get back, repeat process, fly to Caribbean for a month of sun and fun.

    Repeat, endlessly, as supply of fools to fleece will only increase with each passing day. And it is all very legal.

    Evil bait is really sort of like a Ponzi scheme.
    It only continues as long as there are clueless suckers to think they're getting something special.
    If folks would quit buying trash for more than new prices, gee, 3/4 or more of the sellers would be out of business.
    Used to was, you'd pick up a full box of that trash for less that five bucks under a table at a show or meet.
    Pick out what you need to fix something, and either give the rest away or throw it away.
    Didn't matter as you were only into it for five bucks.
    Now, you spend $1500 on trash, maybe keep one five dollar item, and what do you do with the rest?
    Put it on evil bay for $1495!
    Plus shipping!
    Plus handling!

    Or, you make a bid of fifty bucks, and some moron runs it up past you by a bunch. You fold, two days later you get a notice that your bid was accepted as the "winner" had become a "whiner" and either backed out or couldn't be found.
    SHILL!

    I avoid that place at all costs.

    Well, I cannot wait to see what major damage happens when the Internet sales tax idiocy is finally foisted upon us. That could slow down a lot of people from listing, etc.

    The gummint has already started putting in place paths to track your activities.
    You spend more than $600 annually with one place, they are required to send you a 1099 form. How that works, I don't know...nor whether it's businesses or private.
    They want to get their "fair share". Credit card processing companies have to transmit your sales directly to the IRS. No more running something personal on your CC machine.
    You wonder why evilbait made such a big deal about everyone using PayPal?

    Folks who insist on Postal Money Orders. If you put them in your bank, they can track you.
    If you cash them, they now ask for ID, and they'll track you.

    One of the reasons I retired was this new Internet Taxation baloney.
    For the privilege of being in business, you get to sign up with the national service. Make a sale, enter the ZIP code, it tells you how much tax to collect. At the end of the month, you get a bill (electronically, of course) for the taxes YOU now owe, plus, of course, the service charge for the privilege.
    Gummint wants direct access to your bank account, too.

    It's all there in the thousand pages.....the poo just hasn't hit the fan quite yet.

    Well, we'd better slide back on track, so to speak, here. I don't want to get in trouble with the boss.
