I've been looking for a track gauge to help me with building my turnouts, designing tunnels, etc. but it looks like they don't make them for Z. NZT used to make them, but they don't exist any more and nobody has picked up that slack. Even NMRA doesn't have them (at least in the non-member store) Is there a way to get one short of machining one myself?
Ztrackresale I think has some NZT stuff, not sure on a track guage though..... Sorry, went and looked, nothing there.
Graham Jones of ZclubGB trades as NMRSmodels in the U.K. I got some lost wax brass ones off him years ago. Don't know if he still has any but if you google him you should find him Kev
A few pieces of mica work well for setting track gauge. They won't help with tunnels as shown but I think you could shape mica for that as well. http://www.freerails.com/view_topic.php?id=8115&forum_id=7 I hope this helps.
Did You see this? https://www.fohrmann.com/de/abstandshalter-zum-flexgleise-verlegen-gleisabstand.html Spur Z - der Abstand der Gleise kann zwischen 19 und 25 mm eingestellt werden Z Gauge - the distance of the tracks can be adjusted between 19 and 25 mm
While not exactly what I'm looking for, my layout is going to have a double main, so it will be useful for that.
It's too bad Rodney stopped making tools: https://elmassian.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=428&Itemid=491
I have a couple styles in my shapeways shop for N-Scale. If interested I can design some for Z. https://www.shapeways.com/shops/WildeRR
Thanks for the help, but I'm using them to make turnouts, so what I really need is something thin with flanges. @eXact Modelbau That looks very useful for parallel track, I might just get one of those.
