Well, I would take a look at some Kalmbach books, as they have some good, simple, but not too simple plans in them! I used it for my first HO layout, it was pretty good!

    Happy Railroading!

Its my first layout in 20 yrs, so starting as I know nothing. I need all the help i can get...

I have 101 track plans, but Im looking for something different... Theres one or 2 in there that grab me... but looking for options before I start.. I believe in doing it right FIRST time and being happy with that.

Im looking for a 2 main lines, with a few tunnels and a cutting. Want to get the scenery happening... I have thought of designing my own, actually think this is the way to go.. But not sure on this way how it actually finishes..

My original plan was the Appalachian Central out of Dec 1999 MR, but its not descriptive enough as in elevations etc...

Anyone know what they did with the layout when they were finished. I could mail the owner and find out that way..

I mailed MR but the answer was as helpful as corpse.

    But thanks for the reply...

Take a look at my layout site. It is 8' by 3' 6" (pretty close to what you want), has two seperate loops, 3 passing tracks and two levels. Maybe you can get some ideas from it.

If you want to share your email address, I can send you photos of my 4x8 layout. It's not flat but climbs up to an upper level then heads back down hill. It looks like a double loop but is actually a single loop up around the mountain then back down. All on one single sheet of plywood with a 1x4 frame.
