    Paul,
Great pics. You have a really great looking layout. What kind of digital camera did you get?

    Colonel,
I had been just thinking about you and pictures of your layout. Hadn't see any for awhile. I hope the camera inspires you for more. How about some more shots of your "downtown" area.

I'm always a sucker for CP shots with the "golden rodent" on it.

Thanks for the comments guys. I havent been very active with the layout lately due to it being winter. I hope to start doing more modelling in the next few weeks.

The camera I bought is a Canon A40 2.0 megapixel camera. The advantage this camera has over others is that it allows full manual settings as well as automatic. I will post more pics over the next few days including the city scene Rick :D

    Rick,

I just spent most of my summer in Vernon, if I'd a known I had a Kelwona link at Trainboard, I definitely would have tried to meet you... and maybe see a layout or two.

I was in Kelwona during their festival with the band from the Vernon Cadet Camp. I was the guy marching behind the band!!!!

Rick Nicloson...you didn't do your homework. [IMG]

You should have checked the Trainboard member profiles out o see if there were any Trainboard guys in the Central Okanagan and the Vernon area. There is a great display at the Okeefe Ranch in Vernon, both N scale and Ho and there are a few N scalers in the Kelowna area, Art L. The Zimo guy, Gary Lewis, Rick Harvey- Smith, Coyote, etc. We could have had a great get together, arranged a layout tour for you of N scalers in the area and maybe you would have even got a good BBQ meal out of it, let alone looking at some great layouts, both N scale and HO. Next time hey! [IMG]

When I was in Vernon, I didn't have a vehicle. I won't tell you what I think about the location of the Grey Hound bus terminal in Kelowna (I walked downtown with my son). I knew about the ranch, but even getting there was an issue.

Yes, I hang my head in shame (lol), I didn't do my homework, and the barbeque sounded wonderful (I was on military food the entire time - not as bad as it sounds - they weren't rations - eating at the officer's mess). I did hit the BC Shaver and... whatever store in Kelowna.

The guy in Vernon (hobby shop) won't stock MR or other train magazines. He is one of those guys who thinks he's really smart economically but isn't. I didn't go back to his store (its moved now, and there was nothing posted on his door to say where). He told me he lost too much money in train magazines. He lost my business (and yes I wanted to buy some kits there to put together to whittle away the time). The magazines would have kept me coming back.

I was going to do a post on trainboard about going to Vernon, but I finished a military course, got home, had about 4 days, then went to Vernon. While there, I had very little net access. But still the layouts and barbeque would have been wonderful, I had 4 days leave and no where to go.

Rick...That is a sad tale. [IMG]

If we had known you were in the area we would have looked after you....ROYALLY! A good get together, a good BBQ and a tour around. [IMG]

The hobby shop guys in this area can be a bit strange at times, that is why most of us buy out of town. [IMG]

    Next time HEY! [IMG]

    Cheers
Gary, Rick, Blair, Art and Coyote, if he will come out from behind his rock.

Keep the pics coming, we need to see more good layout photos. [IMG]

Unfortunately I can't post from my site on Geocities, but I can post a link. So, to see what an HO scale Kiamichi Railroad GP35M looks like, go to my web site , scroll down the link on Shortline Pics, and scroll down on that page to the link for the next page of pics. The GP35M pic is on the bottom of the page.

Greg, thanks for the comment. My digital camera is a Fuji Finepix2400 zoom. It´s a bit tricky (as Paul noticed) until one figure out where to point the picture center if one are using the macro function. The field of depth reach from about 1/2 feet up to 3 feet.
The earlier posted pics are taken by this camera, and the three first ones below as well.

    As requested, some more pics.
