Had the opportunity to visit the La Mesa Model Railroad Museum yesterday and run some trains on the layout. What a phenomenal layout this is and the behind the scenes extras are mind blowing! Thanks again Mike for the invite and to some new friends made - Derek, Joseph, Major, John and many more (too many names to remember). Steve Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I took the photos. I can't take credit for the locomotives and rolling stock . Those were either club equipment or other members. Thanks for the comments. Steve Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Great pictires. That is just a marvel of operations to me. Their attention to detail is just mesmerizing.
It is amazing work all around. It was so much fun to operate on too, think they had almost 20 trains running so you actually have to wait in sidings for others to pass. Think it was about 1.5 hour round trip on the layout. Steve Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
One of the most (for me) inspirational layouts! Thank you so much for posting these excellent photos!
You're welcome. I'll be going back so I'll be adding more and also some videos when I do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Steve are you a local there? Looking forward to seeing more of this great club/museum layout. If i am not mistaken they have a San Diego themed layout right?
I work in San Diego and live about 45 minutes from it. Was invited to run/operate by another member and will be joining. Museum has 5 layouts total - 2 HO, 1 N, 1 O and a three rail. The layout/MR club we were running on is the La Mesa MRR club and it's Southern California from Bakersfield to Mohave. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lucky you! I model the San Diego / Miramar / Del Mar area in the mid-sixties but i am about 7,000 miles away I have seen a BLMA video on the La Mesa layout you run, and i was amazed by it. Hopefully someday i ll be able to visit. OT: Great modern layout you got there!
