Having recently added the Kato UP N Scale excursion set to my collection, I
decided I wanted to add a few more cars to the train, to lengthen it a bit.
I figure it would look a bit better, with a few more cars.

Got a UP Set A set of passenger cars - RPO/baggage, diner, done, observation.
A previous owner, screwed up real bad! Installed the Obs detail parts on the
diner, and the diner partsto the obs! The observation isn't too bad. Residual glue
can be pretty well covered by the antenna.

The diner, however, is totally damaged beyond easy repair!! The antenna stantions
from the obs, were laid on their side, and glued down, the antenna wire was then
laid on the roof surface, and glued down!!

All parts from both cars, popped loose with slight prying with an X-acto knife.
The roof to the diner though, has so much residual glue, it can NOT Abe removed
without destroying the other detail molded into the roof

Does anyone know IF the UP car roofs were painted? Is it possible to remove the residual
glue while trying to strip the paint? Or where can I get replacement roof(s) for the
    observation and diner?

Contacted Kato over the weekend, and got a reply earlier this AM, in regard to replacement roof.
They are unable/unwilling to provide the necessary parts! Detail set is all they can offer.
    Need Help!

Will not be running the observation car, since I really don't need it.
However, IF I can find a diner roof, I'll add that car to the rest of the excursion train!

Quite often soon after a new run of a train is made additional carbody shells are offered as well. Best to just keep your eyes open, not sure if either of the UP trains are due for a rerun but that likely would be the best way to gain what you need... that or troll eBay, which nearly always has something posted to sell at a halfway decent price.
